Gordon Brown’s government was warned yesterday that unemployment would crash through three million, just ahead of the likeliest date for the next general election. The CBI said 2009 would see the single biggest drop in output of any year since the second world war and lead to a rise of more than a million in the jobless total by early 2010. So the economic news over the next 18 months would remain grim.
The internet has dramatically changed the proficiency and speed at which we successfully search for information and services. Instant data - once a dream of our forefathers - is now a reality fast implementing itself in the instinctual functionality of society. Why then should searching for a job be any different? As our ancestors carved their way through history in a blaze of exploration and blood shed, we too have to be competitive and fearless to navigate the current job market!

I thought this may be of use to all employers and jobseekers alike! Basically it’s a list of, as good as, all the job boards you’ll ever need to know in the UK to either find a job or fill a job. Like EmployersJobs.com many of these job boards also cover Europe, US, Asia and Australia.
Finding your dream job is akin to finding your soul mate. If you feel you’re just not mingling with the right crowd of people to meet him/her - then naturally you change the groups you hang around with to find new prospects - using the network of people you are in contact with. Therefore if you’ve been searching for that perfect job match but having no real success - then it’s time to re asses your strategy.
When considering a career change their are normal stress and anxiety points that play one ones decision. It’s possibly the most important decision someone can make as we need to consider those most affected by our motivations - our families, lifestyle, friends, finances and of course our competency in a new field.
With many around the world returning to work after their seasonal break - spirits are either in high gear or at an all time low as the year begins anew. Today’s IQ tests are largely discredited as a true mark of intelligence, as they don’t measure drive, application or emotional intelligence – which are aspects of a person’s ability to perform. A large body of research over the years has shown that IQ indicates a person’s ability to think in complex and abstract terms and to learn quickly. In terms of a job, however, IQ is a good indicator of how well an employee will perform (you can take the test here).
