It is common knowledge that the UK and Europe follow the USA in terms of economic climate, just look at the current credit crunch and failing housing prices. Not only is it the most effective however it also produces the best return on investment as there are no expensive agency fees to pay. Apart from that, employers ultimately want to attract the people that want to work for them.

By clearly promoting their brand and company information front and centre and in association with their job adverts, they proactively encourage jobseeker to apply direct meaning the quality of application is normally better.
