Is your CV or Resume in top shape?
Creating a great CV or resume is only the first step on the path to success, you also have to evaluate this for effectiveness. This is perfectly natural because you want to make sure the CV/resume you created will help you achieve your goal. You may have created this CV/resume to help you land the job of your dreams. Another reason you might have created the CV/resume template is to sell it for profit for other jobseekers out there trying to find work in a tumultous economy.
The million dollar question is whether or not your CV/resume is serving its purpose and actually attracting enough employer interest to snag the jobseeker interviews that get their foot in the door. We will first look at those who are searching for a job. Getting responses and interview requests from potential employers is a good sign that the CV is working.
This does not mean you will definitely get the job you want but receiving many calls after submitting your CV/resume indicates it is effective. Getting calls and invitations to interviews are signs that the employer noticed your CV. If you are not landing jobs you may need to work on your interviewing skills. Taking a look at how many people are actually purchasing your CV example will tell you if the example you created for profit is working. If you are attracting a lot of traffic but not making many sales, your example should probably be reevaluated. Spend some time examining the example to see if you can see why visitors are not interested. However, if many visitors are purchasing your CV example, it is working well. Now is the time to try to repeat your success by creating more examples.
Once you figure out your CV/resume is not working well, you need to make some changes. Try creating a new version with one or two changes and testing it to see how effective it is. If you donít see improvements you will have to look elsewhere for help. At this time, having someone else evaluate and edit your CV example might be appropriate. They can provide you with some advice on how the example can be improved. Potential employers and website visitors may also be able to tell you what it is about your example that is offputting.
