We’ve all got a little team Obama in us!
On the 20th of January this week Barack Hussein Obama II (born August 4, 1961) became the forty-fourth and current President of the United States. His presidency reminds us that 2009 is a year to be active in changing the way we approach our lives and each other.
Barack Obama’s heritage shows us America and the world at large are moving beyond race and creed discrimination when it comes to careers and responsibilities. Mr Obama has one of the most high profile jobs on the planet, he copes with that massive weight on his every decision, and manages to lead a married life and be a father - as can anyone with the right strategy.
I hope that the people of the world will give this man, some may even argue the most powerful man on the planet; the chance to settle in to the most responsible and demanding job or position of his entire career. President Obama emphasized the issues of rapidly ending the Iraq War, increasing energy independence, and providing universal health care during his long and arduous campaigning. I sincerely hope he steps up to the plate and puts his money where his mouth is.
This man has a young family and what is it that every man, husband and father wants, is to provide and give a better way of life to their children, if not right away then laying down the foundations for their futures. As President Obama becomes more and more aware of the consequences of rash actions, and begins to work towards facilitating a calmer rational approach to his government, so should we begin applying more thought before actions in our careers and jobs.
Let’s make it not only a time for the American nation to celebrate - but for the whole world as we restructure our lives and careers to be more fulfilling all round. Think forward, record your goals and start working towards the tomorrow you’ve always envisioned for yourself.
